Make sure you are putting your best foot forward! Here are some great tips from our recruiters to help you craft the perfect resume and get the job of your dreams!

  1. Keep It Short & Sweet

    1. It is important to keep your resume under two pages. Companies are sent hundreds of resumes from candidates hoping to fill available positions, leaving them no time to thoroughly read through each one. We recommend our candidates exclude experiences over 15 years old and remove any hobbies. Instead, use the limited space to provide as much information about past roles as possible.

  2. Don’t Forget About The Details

    1. All too often overlooked by candidates, the small details of your resume can make the difference between obtaining an interview or being passed on by a company. Given the volume of candidates competing for the same position, errors like typos or using the incorrect tense for current and past positions can make some companies pass on a potential hire. Make your resume look as professional as possible by using consistent formatting throughout the entire document and checking for errors.

  3. Be Specific

    1. With the limited space available, provide as much detail as you can. For example, rather than merely stating you led a technical team, you could specify that you led a team of 5 mid-level developers. Essentially, include as much quantitative information and detail as possible. Additionally, make sure you specify how long you were at each position. If you had multiple roles within a company, make sure you specify how many months or years you were in each role as well.
